fun at the airport

Many, many years ago Tom and I had season tickets to the University of California Berkeley football games. One of my favorite players was Tony Gonzalez. He played on both the football team and the basketball team. Tom used to tease me and call him "my boyfriend". After college he went on to play football with the Kansas City Chiefs and he still is.
Why am I telling you all of this? Because we saw him at the airport yesterday! We were at the Oakland Cal. airport and had some time to kill before our plane came in. We stopped at a restaurant and I told Tom I saw this guy who looks a lot like Tony Gonzalez. Tom checked him out and said it was him. So the rest of the time that Mr. Gonzalez was eating and talking to his friend, I sat two tables away staring at his back, giggling, and smoothing my hair. Not that I have some weird, celebrity crush or anything. I didn't have the nerve to get my picture taken with him, but later I saw some other guys do it. Well, I didn't want to bother him.
It certainly made our wait at the airport more interesting. Grant asked us if we had ever seen any other celebrities at the airport (or on a plane)...and we have.

I saw Little Richard once, he was sitting in first class, I was not.


Tom has seen Jason Kidd, another former Cal Bear player.
We used to go to his basketball games and he is AMAZING!
He now plays for the New Jersey Nets.


Tom also saw Flava Flav....

and Jerome Bennis.
