How I Found My Style Sundays- Savvy Seasons

EDITED NOTE: For those of you who have inquired about where Liz's blog and YouTube videos have gone, I have spoken with her and sadly she has decided to exit the world of blogging. Thankfully though she has said that it is ok to leave her feature up for us all to continue to enjoy. I know I will dearly miss Liz. I have been following her blogging journey for the entire life of my blog. I wish her and her family well and look forward to her stopping by and visiting from time to time.

W E L C O M E   T O...
~This weeks style, T U S C A N   S T Y L E!
Hi Everyone, I'm Liz from Savvy Seasons! Pamela was so sweet to ask me to share 'How I Found My Style' here on her wonderful blog. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this series.
****
I believe that our style evolves over time, so today I would like to take you on a trip down "memory lane" and share with you how I found my style.
This was our home in Alabama. At the time, my style was a mix of Southern style and Tuscan. I think I was a bit more minimalistic back then for sure. ;)
This was our home in Virginia. I think my style was a bit of southern, traditional, and Tuscan mixed.
I was REALLY into color in this house. Every room was painted. ;)
This was a home we rented when we first came to the Pacific Northwest. Now, although this home looks like Craftsman style on the outside, the inside was all Tuscan Style.
This home had all the tuscan earthy colors, stonework, and finishings that I love!
This is our current home in Washington. We downsized as you can see. I love our home, but I am working hard to make it more Tuscan Style.
1-My decorating style is...T u s c a n.
2- How did you "find" your style of decorating? Well, I found my style through trial and error. I have always tried new ways of decorating, but I always come back to Tuscan, it truly makes me happy.
3- What has been your most treasured find for your home? I know this is going to sound crazy, but my most treasured find for my home are two iron gates I found at Ross...they completely transformed my kitchen and gave it the Tuscan look I was going for. See picture below.
4- What tips do you have for creating a beautiful home? My tip would be not to follow decorating trends, trends go in and out of style. Try to stick with a color palette, furnishings, and accessories that reflect your personality and style. If you follow that rule, you can never go wrong. :)
My style is comfortable and cozy.
I love good lighting, so I add a lot of lamps here and there.
We added an old rustic window frame above the kitchen island, which became another place to decorate, and I can also add pots around the perimeter, but right now I have a spring garland hanging where the pots used to be.
We also added this old ladder above the kitchen table. I accessorized the ladder with lots of curly willow and floral picks. It's like eating under a canopy of spring flowers, it's different.
Here is our cozy Tuscan family room.
Lots of warm earthy colors.
I adore knick-knacks and creating vignettes.
This is my Euro flair display.
I added a burlap bow to the top of my mirror to add a little texture.
Here's a peek into the dining and kitchen area.
This our family room mantle.
 A close-up of the ladder.
Here is our Tuscan home theater.
Lastly, every girl needs one of these, your very own home store, as I like to refer to it. Take your decor items out of those bins and store them on storage shelves. So, when you feel the need to decorate  you know where everything is and everything has it's place. Decorating becomes a breeze.
Thank you all for stopping by and taking a trip with me down memory lane. Try to look back at some of your old pictures to see how you discovered your style, it's fun! XOXO ~Liz

Isn't Liz's home just amazing!? I have to say her favorite item is mine as well. I fell head over heels when she shared those iron gates above her kitchen sink and how about going shopping in her storage room!? I think she would have to kick me out!;)
Thank you Liz for sharing your beautiful home with us. I have enjoyed following you thru out the years and in your multiple moves.
