Grant and I went shopping in Boulder City today. Boulder City is about 45 minutes away from our house in Las Vegas. Everything in Vegas is shiny, new. I like Boulder City because it's older and the buildings and houses have a lot of character. I believe the town came into being when the Hoover Dam was being built. The workers needed someplace to live while working on the dam and that's how the town was born. No gambling was allowed because it would distract the workers. In fact there still is no gambling allowed (although there is a casino right outside the city limits). So that's a brief history of Boulder City and I hope I got it right. Speaking of history....there are some nice antique shops. I got a real find, but you'll have to wait until Thrifty Thursday to see it! You have read this article with the title Boulder City.
