The entry way

This is the view of our entry way if you are facing our front door from inside the house. (duh!)

I have a bulletin board on one side of our door that I keep some of Grant's art work and awards on. If you would like to know how I made it click
here.
The fabric is taupe and black and looks like a map.

The area on the other side of our front door is very narrow, with a depth of only 15 inches. So I was very limited in finding furniture that would fit.

I found this little metal table at Ross, but it was a funky color. I already had the mirror and it was originally white. I painted them both so they would coordinate with each other. If the mirror seems high, you should know that we are very tall in this family.
Here's what's on the table. I learned the hard way, do
not put anything breakable on your entrance table or it will.....get broken.

An antique muffin tin holds our keys.

I made this. It's a s
tyrofoam ball, using a butter knife you take little
pieces of fabric and jam all the edges into the ball. That's my very proper Martha
Stewartesque crafty
instructions. ;)

The paint treatment on the mirror.....

....and the table.

This is what you see when you enter the front door. As you
probably noticed we have a very open floor plan.

Sunflowers, are happy flowers!

I did the floral arrangement. I've had it about 5 years now and am ready for something different. But the arrangement goes nicely with the print,
sooooo until I find a new print I'm in love with the arrangement stays.

It was so hard to find a table or cabinet the right size. I gave myself a budget of $150 and was looking
everywhere. Finally Target had one of
their international markets and I found this, the right size and
under budget, yeah! It has a nice old world look and storage, love it.

I love the look of these candle holders all aglow......

....but since they are down low where children can reach them, I use these battery
operated "candles". That way no one
gets burned.
