Model Home Tour

I toured two beautiful homes this weekend and I just had to share them with you.
I was very surprised to see how this particular model was decorated.
I'm used to seeing models decorated in a contemporary or traditional design.
But, this home had cottage style with some industrial accents.
It has a Restoration Hardware vibe to it.

I LOVE the homes exterior!!
It has a French Country look...love the mix of stone and brick...the arch leading to the homes entry...
and the beautiful shutters

Even the garage doors are pretty!
Most of the home in SE Texas are brick and I prefer the brown toned brick that this home has to the red brick (that  my house has).

The entry is perfect.
I really want this table and arched window/mirror.
The mercury glass lamp and orchid are pretty enough that you don't need anything else on top.
Notice the gorgeous floors this home has too.

The family/great room has so many things that are hot in the blogging world right now, like subway art and even a chevron throw on the couch.

I love the wood on the TV cabinet.
It looks like the wood has been bleached or liming wax has been used on it.
What do you think gives the wood this appearance?

A trend I've been noticing in newer homes is a corner fireplace.
This is so smart! It makes furniture placement so much easier.
You still have the beauty and warmth of a fireplace without taking up precious wall space in a room.

My favorite thing in the room is the light fixture (hence so many photos).
The room backs up to the backyard so you have a pretty view.
See those chairs in front of the window?
How about a closer look.

So cute and kind of funky!
I love the grain sack inspired pillows.

A big white kitchen with a built in desk and breakfast room.
I like the industrial touch the stools and artwork bring to the room.
Th gray subway tile is so nice.

Another favorite room was the dining room, although I think they should have used a different light fixture.
The furniture is so pretty and I like the large scale horse art.
The large lanterns are a dramatic touch.
I think the lanterns and the light tones of the wood give the room a slight beachy feel.

On the other wall were these gorgeous smoky mirrors!
I have a project in mind that has been inspired by these mirrors.

One of the bedrooms was decorated to look like it was for a teen boy.
It had a vintage industrial feel.
I am (still) in the process of redoing my teen sons room.
This is the look I'm going for so I was excited to see this room.

How many bloggers have made pillows like these number pillows?
I thought it was so cool to see all the bloggy influences in this house.

Cool industrial style desk, mirror and accessories.
I really like the subtle striping on the walls too.

Not the best shot on my part, but I wanted to show you this room set up as an office.
One wall was all built in bookshelves.

They were styled so nicely.
I love the books with their crinkly covers.

The rest of the room was painted a dramatic midnight blue.
More awesome horse art.

I've never seen this in a house before, but there was a little entry area in front of two of the bedrooms.

The chair was pretty and I really love the lamp.

Outside is a built in covered patio.
I adore the chunky stone floor.
Our home in Las Vegas had this type of patio and having the built in cover really made a difference
on super hot days (which we had lots of).

The second house I toured also has a French Country look.
The reason I chose to tour these two homes is because they are one story homes with high ceilings
and open floor plans.
I had this style of house when I lived in Las Vegas and I just loved it.
I hate going up and down stairs all day long.

The great room has a really pretty coffee table.
It didn't show up very well in the photos but the doors hanging on the wall looked old with chippy paint.

Beautiful stone fireplace and I like the dark painted niche for the TV.

This bedroom was very pretty with the cottage bedding and beachy lamps.

I hope you enjoyed the tour!
