Fall Mantel 2013

I had fun putting together a simple Fall mantel, but I had a lot of trouble taking pictures of it.

My ceiling fan kept appearing in the mirror, which really bugged me.

So two little photos is all I have for you.

Maybe if some of you wanted to come over and raise the ceiling in my family room?

No?

Sprouts Market was selling the most lovely sunflowers so that is where my arrangement started.

I wanted to bring a little more mustard yellow to the mantel so I placed some faux goldenrod in one of my demi john's.

Twiggy pumpkins because the real ones weren't out yet when I took these photos and a little squirrel I bought last year were added.

Lots of texture and lots of brown bring the essence of Fall to my fireplace mantel.

Think cozy sweaters and crinkly brown leaves.

Yesterday we had a cool rainy day in Houston and it was heavenly, however the rest of the week is going to be humid and in the 90's.

Oh well, you get what you get and you don't throw a fit!

That's what I tell my four year old and sometimes I have to tell myself the same thing.
