Treasure Hunt Thursday #111 & Top Picks

This is the second full week of summer vacation for us and so far we have been enjoying it! The boys are literally counting the days till they can get back out in the backyard to swim. Landscaping went in yesterday and now they are working on finishing up the patio overlay.
I hope that everybody is having a great summer so far!

AN Thrifty Treasure Thursday, Treasure Hunt Thursday Top Picks

Just Giddy!

Between Yesterday and this morning I have been having awesome luck!

The boys and I went to HomeGoods yesterday after school and I was able to purchase a few of these damask print curtain panels. They have had them for the past few weeks and I looked at them every time I went in there. I just could not decide if I wanted them or not but yesterday since there were only a few left they had to come home with us. I have an idea in my head on what I want to do with them but you will have to just wait!;)

Then I was thrilled when we went down the linen isle and saw these french tea towel sets! I just loved them to pieces and actually purchased several of each.

Though both of those finds were great this mornings find beats them out by a land slide!! I have been trying to hunt down my next piece to refinish. I am VERY picky on what I purchase and also sometimes I am not quick enough to get pieces before others in the area get to them but this morning I was first in line! I am beyond giddy over this purchase!

Just look at this french desk!! I made the boys get dressed as fast as they could because the fella said he would not hold it for me for very long.You have never seen a gal slap on some clothes and make up so fast!

It even has a drawer! Now for whatever reason the seller wiped it down with some stain before hand. I know this because it was still VERY VERY tacky. When ya touch it the stain gets on your hands. I am hoping he decided to do that this morning before listing it and that it will dry soon. If not it will make my job of making it beautiful more complicated. I hate it when stain stays tacky!
Well worth the rush though. I was wanting to wait till after lunch to go and get it because I had a bloggy pal coming by to purchase something from me and thus I was  going to use that cash to buy the desk. Well instead I had to get a loan from Oldest!;) Thankfully he loves his mama and remembers that I float him cash from time to time so it all worked out.

Welcome to Treasure Hunt Thursday #29 y'all!! Wow!! I can not believe next week will be #30! Time flies when ya are having fun and I just can not get enough of your amazing treasures ladies! Last week was no exception so lets get on with the highlights!

I just love this magnetic board that Marla and her hubby Steve did over at Always Nesting! That green is so yummy!

I guess I had a thing for boards and such cause Lynn over at Rustic Gold painted this mirror frame and it is gorgeous! Head on over and help her decide on wether she wants to keep it a mirror or turn it into a chalk board. I voted chalk board.

Audrey over at Elegant Economies has a fabulous Fifi O'Neal inspired craft room! If only my craft room looked half as nice!

Treasure Hunt Thursday #26 & Highlights

All I have to say is OMG ladies!!! Last week we had the largest turn out yet for Treasure Hunt Thursday and I could not be anymore excited than I am right now! Thank you to all who participated! I am truly honored that ya joined the party. Here is hoping for just as good of a week if not better!

Here are  a few highlights from last weeks party:

Did y'all see the awesome fire place What We Keep made? I never would have thought of that! 

We all have seen the ever so popular herb crates but Wise Designs Inspirations used these really awesome herd baskets to decorate around the house! Mandy has a great sense of style!

Anna from Kiwi In Texas  is such a great bargain shopper! She found this incredibly fun chair for just $20 on the local yard sale site! Better yet Anna lives just around the corner from me. I better watch out or she will be grabbing up all the good deals around here!;)

Treasure for the Week

 I saw this raspberry velvet chair  a few weeks back at a second hand store here in the area. They were wanting far too much for it so I decided to forget about it. At the time I did not even need a chair. 

Here is a corner of the newly painted guest room. See that rocker? Well it just does not flow with the room anymore. With that being said I just so happend to get an email this week saying that the raspberry velvet chair had been marked down and if I purchased online I could get an additional 10% off. Well now we were talking!
  
I made not one but two visits to the shop to look at the chair. The first was to see the actual condition of the chair. Sometimes ya just never know. Well it was in great condition with no rips, stains or smell! Yes I actually smelled the chair!
I went home to ponder some more. The next day I went back up there and took my side table with me. I am sure the owner thought I was a loon but I had to make sure they worked together. They did but I still needed to ponder and to make sure that nobody was going to list an even better chair cheaper on the local yard sale site. I am always out for a bargain! Well nobody did.

Thus the raspberry velvet chair came home today!

I just love its curves!

And as for it's raspberry fabric it will have to stay around awhile till I get brave enough to tear it off and start from scratch. I am though already pondering how to paint and age the wood! Stay tuned!

Treasures For The Week

Happy Thursday y'all! Hope your week is going well. My boss is headed to Round Top till Oct 2 so while she is away I get to play here at the house and I will give you a hint and that hint is that I have been as busy as a Bee!;) Hope to share soon!

Until then I thought I would share my treasures for the week. Well actually the past two weeks. 

I have been admiring these botanical prints for some time now on Ebay and at the local antique shop. I soo wanted to get a few and when these popped up on the local yard sale site I snatched um right up at just $5 for the pair! They are only 8x10 and smaller than what I have been looking at but I am sure I can work them in somewhere!

Next up is this beautiful bedside table I just purchased at a second hand shop yesterday. It was $40 and a tad more than what I wanted to spend but seeing as it is real wood and EXACTLY what I was looking for I had to run down and get it before it got gone. It will be going in the guest bedroom.

My final treasure is this awesome script lamp shade! I have seen these at all of our fave shops and well they cost anywhere from $50 all the way up to $80! Way out of my budget for a lamp shade so when I stumbled upon this shade yesterday for just $10, yes ladies I said just $10, I had to have it! You can not even make a shade like this for $10! Wanna know where I got it? WalMart!! Yes, I said WM! So now that I have mine you can run on out and get yours!;) It is a Better Homes & Garden shade.
