Treasure Hunting

Today the boys and I had to go across town to buy some more paint to finish up a project. On the way back we stopped off at one of my favorite antique shops- Spring Antique Mall. They had sooo many goodies today. I was glad that I had my rainy day money on me!

I finally bought a pair of antlers. I was not so sure of the whole decorating with antler thing when it first started. These were a great deal so it was hard to resist.

I was looking thru bins of old post cards and came across this beautiful one.

It is dated 1909! 104 years old and so it had to come home with me. It appears to have been written by a child. One of the sweet sales ladies kept checking on me and the boys and she saw I had this post card and told me her mama was born in 1909. I looked at her quizzically and asked if she was still alive and sure enough she was! The sales lady got her phone and showed me a pic of her mama sitting in an electric car. I loved it! I pray that I get to live to be 104 and healthy or at least have my mama and The Nana around that long!
Look at this precious tiny child's bible. For $1.50 I was not leaving it behind.

It is dated 1952. I wonder where Roselle Williams Crawford is and just how old she is now.

Here is a mini statue I am going to make over.

I fell in love with this seascape oil painting too! Everything was at wonderful prices so I just could not help myself. I am going to probably paint the frame.

The boys did some treasure hunting as well. Oldest found a tiny wooden dog statue.

Littliest found an old train post card, a mini bible and a rock statue cat. He has a thing for cats.

See y'all tomorrow for Treasure Hunt Thursday!

Not Enough Time

It is the first full week of a new year! I have been busy and finally am finished taking down all of Christmas. Now there are dust bunnies every where and it looks as if we are moving out!Ha! In between that I have also been working on a few projects.
This chair is almost ready for its reveal! It will be headed to the cottage.
Then I finally decided on a color story for Antoinette. As much as I wanted to wait for the new AS Antoinette pink to come out I talked myself into using colors I already have. So Paris Grey it is! I have an inspiration pic that I will share when I reveal the completed make over.
In between projects I have also been doing a little shopping here and there.
I purchased these antique mirrors off of the local yard sale site today! They were only $60 for the three. I will be honest I went to purchase them to turn into chalk boards and sell at my space out at the cottage but after getting them home I just do not know.

They are real wood frames and oh my the ornateness is dreamy! The gold not so much but that can be worked with. What would you do? Would you keep um or sell um?

Then I was at HomeGoods and found this miniature bust form that I just HAD to have! I figured it would be super cute in my sewing/craft room but then figured I could actually use it anywhere in the house. It was just $12.99.

So as you can see there is just not enough time in my day to get everything done that I want. Good news is that I am almost caught back up with laundry. Bad news is that you can still not see the top of the counter here in the kitchen where I plop all my craft stuff.

Hope all is well!

Treasures For The Week

Happy Friday y'all! Hope your week was a grand one! Since I was so busy this week I have not had a chance to share my treasures for the week! Pardon the lack of exciting photos. I did not have time for staging this morning!:)

Check this piece out! Believe it or not in the three weeks that I have been out at the cottage this the ONLY thing I have brought home with me! I know, can you believe it!? It surprised even myself really!:) Marci actually had not one but two of these diamonds in the rough and while I was cleaning them up I knew I just had to ask to buy one of them. I was not sure she would agree since we were getting stuff together for Round Top but she did and so this purply pink soon to be master piece came home with me. I am going to use it above the guest room bed. I can not decided if I want it to look like old plaster or a wood piece. It is actually just a plastic mold.

Next up is this beautiful frenchy side table! I got it for just $25 which to some may be high but it is just the right height and style I needed so I was good with the price. Not sure if it will stay in it's current state or not. As you can see it is in the guest bedroom. Hoping this weekend to start painting in there!:) Getting excited about the guest bedroom make over because I just finished up the armoire last night and can not wait to share!!

So there ya have my treasures for the week!:) Before I go if you have not noticed I FINALLY figured out how to make a blog button so here is the Treasure Hunt Thursday "I've Been Featured!" button! WhooHoo!

I Won I Won! Sorda...

Remember I mentioned earlier in the week how I was on the hunt for a new chandy for the dining room on a peanut butter and jelly budget?Well last night I won this one on Ebay!! Well not really won it but paid the $5 extra dollars and just out right purchased it so I would not have to wait around or miss out on it because I am infamous for forgetting abt stuff I am watching on there. Anyways, guess how much!? $45 y'all!!! It has six lights and from the measurements posted it should be just the right size. Keeping my fingers crossed on that one and that it arrives in one piece!!

Today instead of working on the floors or doing laundry the boys and I headed out to The Old Oak Cottage which  the boys lovingly refer to as The Cookie Store" because Ms. Marci always has cookies out for all of her guest. Oldest was just amazed at the new show room out there and even made it the topic of conversation during dinner with The Hubster. I am sure The Hubster was just thrilled!;) Anyways, I always come home with some type of treasure cause I just can not help myself. (The cute basket I purchased from HomeGoods a few months back.)

I fell in love with these mini sconces with bling! They are even hard wired so I can use them as actual lights. I have no place for that though so now I am trying to figure out how to dissect them and use them a candelabras instead without destroying them.

I just love the pantina on these darlings!

I also got the April and May issues of Romantic Homes. They were half off and again I just could not help myself. Thats two for the price of one and well I'm cheap.

I look thru these magazines time and time again and well these floors jumped right out at me! They have the lil' wheels in my brain going round and round thats for sure! Now if I can only convince The Hubster of my grand plan!;)

And look at those mini wood beams in this pic! They have me saying hmmmm as well! Oh darling hubby ya got a sec!?;)

I could not leave with out including this pic for Ma and The Nana. This is how I found the boys yesterday afternoon when I took a short break from the floors. I thought it was rather strange I was not being interrupted. And yes, there is another peek at the new flooring! I keep telling myself it will all be worth it in the end! It will all be worth it in the end. Maybe.

One last thing before I go, thank you to my new followers this week! Ya put me over the 300 mark!

It's 1 am y'all and this mama is tired so I am outta here!! Have a good one!
