Once again I really wanted to be part of The Lettered Cottage's Spring Mantel Party, but I don't have a fireplace anymore, so I've decorated the chest in my entry way instead.
I thought it would be fun to use lavender and aqua in my spring decorating this year.
I made this really easy banner.
I was inspired by a gorgeous Valentine banner I saw at Simple As That.
It was so easy to make...
I simply cut a "V" out of the bottom of a book page.
I have a tag punch, so I glued on a tag punched from scrapbook paper onto the book page.
Finally I couldn't find letter stickers in the color I wanted so I traced lettered stickers onto scrapbook paper and cut them out and glued them on top of the tags.
Then I folded over the top of the book page and glued a string inside.
The string of the banner is taped to the back of a chippy white frame.
We don't have fresh lavender in the nurseries yet, so I placed some faux lavender in an urn from
Pottery Barn.
A little nest with blue eggs is leaned against it.
My dear friend Heidi made me this gorgeous Easter egg!
I loooove it!!
She had no idea I was using purple for my spring decorating.
Isn't that cool!
Finally a little aqua pot with a fern inside.
One of the few house plants I managed to keep alive this winter.
I am good with outdoor gardening.....
Can anyone tell me why house plants are so difficult???
Here is a shot of the whole entry way.
The soft pretty colors make me happy!
