Christmas Dining Room 2013

We sold our dining room table this year and haven't replaced it yet.
Someone (ok, it's me) can't decide on what she wants.
So for these photos I pulled my table and chairs in from my breakfast room.
Why, not just take photos of the breakfast room?
Because there is too much light in that room and the photos turn out really dark.

For my Christmas tablescape I used sparkly metal reindeer and trees that I've owned many years and nestled them into evergreens.

In the center a white ceramic pedestal from Marshall's.

I filled the pedestal with evergreens, and mercury glass acorn ornaments.

This fabric used to be a really long runner that fit our old dining room table, but for this smaller table I cut the runner in half and instead of running it down the length of the table I used it as more of a place mat.

My dishes are from the thrift store, but a lot of different companies sell this style with the pebbled edges.

My favorite thing, I must admit, are these adorable little tags I made.
I took a large brown tag and cut it down with a scalloped scissor.
Then I stamped a deer onto scrapbook paper and used a tag punch.
I then glued the two tags together.
Finally I used some gingham ribbon to tie the tag to the napkin.

I pulled my Kubu chairs in from my family room.
The pillows are from H&M's online store.

You can see how I made the stenciled shutter here.

I've been working on painting this buffet for the last couple of months.
It is a bear of a project, so when I get sick of it I take long breaks.

So that's about it...thanks for visiting!
