I decided to do something a little different this year.
Instead of Santa's and snowmen, I decided to do a woodland themed Christmas tree.
I already had this twiggy star for the top of the tree and it fir with the theme.
I love the owl at the top of the tree with the plaid belly.
Kirkland's had their ornaments half off and he was only $2.50!
Someone put this ladder in the trash and I snagged it. hee, hee!
Love free!
I was tempted to paint it red (wouldn't that have been cute?).
But then I wouldn't use it the rest of the year so I kept it as is.
For now.
For the last couple of years I've placed the tree in this bucket I got from Lowes.
There is a Christmas tree stand inside the bucket.
I bought the bucket and stand at the same time and made sure the stand fit inside.
The last couple of years I never noticed there is a label on the front (doy!).
I like the way it looks and had it face out this year.
I have all kinds of fun woodland ornaments on the tree.
They were very cheap and I made some of them.
I plan to do a separate post on the ornaments soon.
I hope I don't run out of time.
This month is flying by!
I meant to take a photo of the tree with the whole mantel, but I keep forgetting.
If I ever get around to it I'll add it into this post.
My teenage son has been complaining a lot about the tree.
(Teenager's like to complain.)
After I photographed it for the blog he wanted me to take it apart and decorate
it the traditional way.
I said no.
He has finally come around and likes the tree except for the sprays of berries (which I love).
The tree is best all lit up at night!
