I couldn't resist snapping some photos this morning to participate in the
linky party for One Room Three Ways.
Those of you that are familiar with my blog are not at all surprised to see that I chose my living room for the three different looks.
It is my favorite room to switch up and try new looks on.
My kids are begging to go swimming, so to make things quick and easy I've created a collage of each look, and then underneath, a photo explaining how I came about the look and why.
To create a French Country look I used pattern, color, and texture.
The pillow has pattern, color comes from the lavender, the preserved boxwood wreath and the grainsack (really a dish cloth from Ikea!).
The texture comes from the rustic basket and wood bread bowl.
I also added an urn and vintage books to the side table to give a European feel.
The next look is Beach Casual.
I actually just did a whole post on this look so I'm going to be lazy and refer you HERE,
if you'd like to see more.
The final look is what I'm calling Nordic Cottage.
To me, Nordic style has lots of white and grey and usually plants and flowers.
I brought in some of my favorite pillows and an old bucket.
As well as some crepe myrtle from my yard.
(FYI: crepe myrtle makes a lousy cut flower, but I'm using what I have)
I adore cottage style and brought that in with a topiary, an old shutter and a vintage crate.
So which look is my favorite?
It is just sooooo "me"!
